Harris, Vance leading in 2028 presidential polling
Two early leaders
Current standings
Other contenders
Harris receives 30% support in the reported results, followed by Newsom at 15%. Vance receives 38% among possible Republican nominees, with Rubio at 24% and Ron DeSantis at 9%.[3]
Interpretation
The Democratic field includes Ocasio-Cortez, Buttigieg, Jon Ossoff, Mark Kelly, Josh Shapiro and Andy Beshear. Republican respondents also name Donald Trump Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but each trails the leading pair.[3]
Outlook
Vance’s position as vice president gives him unusually high visibility, while Harris retains national recognition from her previous presidential campaign and vice presidency. Those advantages can help early polling but do not guarantee nomination victories.
What to watch
The main variables will include presidential approval, the midterm results, economic conditions, foreign-policy developments and whether prominent candidates actually run. A credible general-election projection is not yet available from these early primary preferences.
