Weekly transits rose to 108 in the August 17-23 period, the highest since the collapse of the memorandum of understanding, according to preliminary data. Even so, the publication emphasized that volumes are still below normal levels.

This matters because it shows some shipowners are cautiously re-entering the route, especially tankers and gas carriers. But a weekly improvement can coexist with a route that is still far from being broadly trusted by the market.
Outlook
The near-term outlook remains conditional. Unless the security and political backdrop improves enough to sustain higher daily counts, the strait may continue to recover in fits and starts rather than by a clear month-by-month deadline.
